In-building
coverage system is a successful solution specifically designed
to improve the wireless coverage and capacity for indoor
mobile user groups. This kind of system is considered as
excellent solution for wireless coverage optimizing.
By using in-building antena distributed
system in In-building coverage system, we can distribute
the signal from BTS to every corner of the room uniformly,
ensuring the ideal signal coverage inside the building.
In-building coverage system provides
an alternative to weakly covered areas, improving the connectivity
of mobile phones, improving comprehensively the call quality
inside the building, and exploring regions with high quality
of mobile communication. Meanwhile, micro-cell system can
share the call capacity of outdoor macro-cell system, increasing
network capacity, and improving the overall level of mobile
network service.
Generally,
there are three types of technical solutions for indoor
coverage:
* Macro-cell
wireless system: using outdoor macro-cell system
as signal source, ideal for signal-blind areas in buidings
with small space and lower call capacity. It is more frequently
used in suburbs and distant areas.
* Micro-cell
wired system: using micro-cell wired system as signal
source, is ideal for buildings of wide areas and large amount
of calls. And it is more frequently used in downtown areas
for coverage and capacity solution.
* Repeaters: Provided the spare
capacity of outdoor systems, using reapeaters to bring the
outdoor signals into indoor coverage-blind areas.
There are four basic ways for indoor
signal distribution:
* Passive
distributed system
delivering and distributing the signal to needed areas in
the building through passive device accessories, antennas,
and feeders, providing satisfactory signal coverage. This
kind of system is ideal for coverage in medium or small
sized areas.
* Active
distributed system
amplifing and distributing signals through active devices(including
active combiners, amplifiers, power splitters, active antennas,
etc. ) and antenna feeders.
* Fiber
optic distributed system
mostly use fiber optic for signal distribution, This kind
of system is ideal for delivering trunk signal in large-scale
or seperated in-building environment.
* Leaky
cable distributed system
Signal is transmitted through leaky cable from signal source,
and generate surface electricity through the holes of the
outer conductor, thus forms magnetic fields on the cross
section of the holes. Those holes serve as a series of antenna
receiving and sending signals.This kind of system is ideal
for coverage in strips of land such as tunnels, metros,
and galleries.
